Pee Pee Pee.... WHY??

Canyon has been potty trained for about a year now. He has done very well. Our biggest problem is keeping the carpet dry, yes the carpet. He pulls his pants down and gets the carpet even though the potty is 10 feet away.  I don't understand he knows this is naughty. I ask him why he pees on the carpet and he answers "that's naughty". WHY, why is he peeing?  I have tried taking his favorite toy away, I've tried time out, I have even tried spanking. I never wanted to get to that point but I did. And it failed miserably. So I switched tactics, rewards. I've tried the potty jar, or giving him a treat each time the carpet was dry. That worked for a little while but now we are back to wetting the carpet. WHY?  Today I took every single toy away except for one truck for Bridger to play with.  Other than that all the toys are gone. TV is gone. Canyon doesn't seem to care that all his toys are gone. What do I do? I need help.  Any suggestions????

Halloween fun!

Halloween was so much fun. This was our first year Trick or Treating in our neighborhood. My sister Shani and her daughter came over and ate soup and bread. Then we dressed the kids up in their costumes. I couldn't even stand it they were so cute.  As you can see Canyon is Thomas the Train, Kalinka is a ladybug and my sweet Bridger is a caterpillar. These costumes were not what we had in mind. For about two weeks before Halloween I was prepping Canyon. Last year he gave the candy back to the people and he didn't get why we dressed up. My preparation worked, I asked him what he wanted to be and he said a flashlight dancing spider, for all of you that don't know what that is it's when you make hand puppets with the flashlight and the hand looks like a spider, a dancing spider. I thought how am I going to make a dancing spider costume, as we were shopping Canyon saw Thomas and the spider idea vanished. Awesome. So here we are all dressed up ready to go.

They had ants in their pants. They would not sit still for a picture.

And we're off.

Oh my heavens isn't he the cutest little bug you have ever seen?

Ma boys

What's in there?

Today was amazing. I am in love with my boys. They are amazing. They play together well, well most of the time. I took a nap today on the couch while Canyon played and watch PBS. He woke me up by kissing my face and hand. He is the sweetest boy. Bridger is just like me when I was a kid. He is stubborn, loud, loves treats, loves sleep but he is very cuddly if it is on his terms. I am the luckiest momma to have two amazing, sweet, loving, healthy boys.

table revamp

I always thought I wanted black furniture until I got my own house. Now I am the complete opposite. I want bright, light, white, beachy, anything but black.
Bye Bye black. Hello amazing.

Trains, planes, and automobiles.....

Well just trains and automobiles

Waiting for the train.
Yeah it's here!!
So exciting.
Bridger aka.. Climber

Canyon was so tired. I asked him to stay awake until we got home, because every mother knows that if your kid falls asleep in the car even for 5 minutes a chance of a nap has disappeared.
Canyon holding his heavy lids open
He is trying so hard but his lids are just so heavy.
gone! Gone goes my chance of peace and quiet.

Staycation

This week John and I had off together. We were supposed to go to Jackson Hole with my family, but after our Bear Lake adventure we decided to opt out. Bear Lake was a challenge. Sleepless nights, kids awake all day with minimal naps, tantrums here and there, the crying kids in the car, and the list goes on. So with a lot of thought,.... well not really, we decided to stay home. Yeah STAYCATION.  We had so much fun. Each day was filled with something different. Swimming, the Aquarium, the Zoo, and more swimming. But the best part is we got to sleep in our beds and wake up to happy rested kids.

Tuesday
They were so excited on the ride to the pool. They even held hands.
Waiting for the pool to open.

Thursday. (we forgot the camera on Wednesday at the aquarium.)
Bridger sunblocked, in back pack with his hat, ready to go.
Notice John has ear plugs in. That is because Screamer aka Bridger gets very excited when he sees animals. It is very loud to say the least.
Canyon sizing himself up to the gorilla. I think Canyon could take him!!

Bridger's point. He does this all day long. Point and squeal, that's his stamp of approval.

The bear was very interactive. He would come up to the window, put his nose to it and then dive down into the water. He repeated that sequence for quite some time. It was amazing.
getting ready to kiss the polar bear.
Another point and squeal.

He couldn't get enough of the animals. He would try to climb out of the pack to get closer.
Friday. At the pool again.
Bridger has many names Screamer, Climber, Sticky Fingers. He is one of many talents.

Our week is over but the memories are with us. Canyon and Bridger are the best two boys I could ever ask for. This week I realized how blessed I am. I have the best family ever. Canyon and Bridger are so loving, energetic, sweet, funny, opinionated, stubborn, inquisitive and just flat out amazing.
