Merry Christmas

Does this hat make my head look big???

Canyon had his 6 month old doctor check. He weighs 16 lbs 11 oz, 26.5 inches long. He is in the 50th percentile. His head on the other hand is 46 cm round, 95th percentile. The pediatrician was slightly worried because his head is growing faster than she would like. She was concerned he might have Benign External Hydrocephalus of Infancy. That is just a fancy word for water around the brain. Turns out he just has a extra big head. That means his brain is big too, right? He needs a big garage to park it in.

"Yeah I have a candy cane."

No candy cane

"yeah I have it back."

Look at my lashes!!!

Canyon slept on his side and made his lashes go crazy. Look at his left eye. Do you see the ball of lashes?

Run on Thanksgiving? Are you crazy?

Any body who knows me knows I really don't love to run. My first race when I was 15 years old I held on to my sisters shirt and cried the whole 10K distance. I was the very last person to cross the finish line. Surprisingly enough I got second place. My second race was the Park City Marathon 8 years ago. I trained for it but still it was not the most enjoyable experience. By mile 18 I started to panic, really panic. At each aide station they would cheer me on and my throat would close up and I thought I was going to die. I told myself I would not run another race. But this thanksgiving I ran a turkey trot 5K. My sis Shani talked me into it. It was actually a great experience. I didn't train or even try to train. I am surprised I finished. I didn't cry, I didn't get dragged, and I wasn't last. Yeah for me. I think this may be a new family tradition.

Now it's time to eat!!!

Last walk in our old neighborhood

Our last walk in our old neighborhood. It was so cold, so I wrapped Canyon up in the green sleepy wrap thing and then shoved him in my down vest. Oh the funny looks we got. It was amazing. It is kind of sad to think that this is not my home anymore. I am sure going to miss the pink lady that walks around Salt Lake City collecting cans, or the man who carries a doll around like a baby, and even the man who tells my friend to do something with her weeds that are growing out of control. I am certainly not going to miss our landlord, who is Greek. Do I need to say more? :):)

Halloween pictures just in time for Thanksgiving

We moved into our new house on Halloween. It was a crazy few weeks but now I feel like this is home, well my a grandmas home. One day we will paint and it will feel like our home. Canyon has adjusted to the move pretty well. I just stick Canyon between the couch cushions and let him look out the window. He absolutely loves to watch the world around him.

baby friends

Canyon in a Johnny jump up getting some exercise.

Canyon and Abe having tummy time together. Notice Canyons massive head next to Abe's. Canyon's is in the 75th percentile and Abe's is in the 25th percentile. Canyon does a pretty good job holding up the noggin.

"What is that noise and face Canyon?"

Just a super cute picture

pumpkin patch

Canyon and his friend Abe had a photo shoot the other day. We put them in the pile of pumpkins outside of Albertsons. Abe was not in the mood for pictures. It was pretty funny, the second we put Abe and Canyon in the pumpkins Abe decided that he needed to poop. It was a very short photo shoot.

new house, new garage door.

We went for a walk today. I walked past a car and saw our reflection and this is what I saw. Canyon sleeping.

This morning I was eating some bacon and eggs. Canyon was eying my food. His puppy dog eyes didn't work. I didn't give him any food. I told him in 8 months he can have some.

So this is our new house. Yeah!! We just got a new garage door installed. We move at the end of the month. Yeah again!!!
"Can you find me?"

I sure love the baby legs, John... not so much!!

I got these baby leg warmers for Canyon. I LOVE them. They were perfect at the doctors office when Canyon got his shots. We pulled them down, got the shots and then we were on our way.

Canyon growing so fast

OH! OH! I know I know!!!

Canyon had his 4 month doctors appointment yesterday. He is 25 inches long and weighs 14 lbs 15 oz. He is is the 50th percentile for height and weight, but 75th percentile for the size of his head. He has a big head to hold his big brains, right??

Daddy woke Canyon up from a nap. This is what we get when Canyon wakes up.
