Unknown

Wednesday morning Canyon woke up to flaming red and hot legs. The left leg was worse. As you can see it looks like he has been sunburned. His left leg was hot hot hot, swollen a full inch bigger and had a texture like goose bumps all over his leg. We went to the pediatrician. She had no clue what it is because Canyon has had no fever, no new exposures and relatively no pain. The doc said "let me look in a book and call a friend." One life line used only two more!! After she returned the verdict was the same, we have no idea what this is. So we are treating it like cellulitis and we will wait and see if it gets better or worse. I have a friend who is also a dermatologist he thinks it is a contact thing but I don't think so. I have another doctor friend who works at PCMC she thinks it is Staph Scalding Syndrome. I am still questionable about that as well. So we just continue treating with antibiotics and hope it gets better.

Day 1

Day 2: 24 hours of antibotics

Tiny little blisters. ouch!!
Day 3: 36 hours of antibiotics. I think it is working. So now we wait.

Canyon and Bridger sure love each other. Canyon is starting to see Bridger as a playmate and not some bump on a log. Yeah!. I can't wait for this summer.

Diaper free....well almost.

There are so many ways to help motivate a child to potty train. Sticker charts, a new toy, new underwear, treats but I went with a different method. We started with an empty potty jar and every time Canyon went pee pee's we would put a pom pom in the jar, and every time he went poopies we put two white pom pom's in the jar. We made a deal with Canyon that if he filled the jar we would ride Thomas the Train aka Trax. It took about a week and a half and the jar was full. Way to go kid.
Saturday we made good 0n that promise. We went to dinner at noodles and then caught the train. Canyon was so excited he couldn't hide it.

We are on the right track. Most days consist of a couple accidents but that is to be expected. He is learning what the sensation is and following the urge. So now the jar is empty again and we need a new incentive. I was thinking the Aquarium. Any Ideas??

It's potty training time

I am now potty training Canyon. The other day John went into Canyon's room in the morning and there was a open poopy diaper on the floor with used wipes next to it. John thought that I left it there from the night..... because I do that right??? No. So we decided it was time. It has been about a week and a half, we have had many many accidents including poopies. So to encourage no accidents we have amazing CARS underwear and a potty jar that every time he goes in the potty we put a pom pom in the jar. And when the jar is full we get to take a ride on a train aka Trax. Wish us luck.

Canyon favorite thing to do is push a little cart at the grocery store. I decided to put Bridger in the cart to let him have a ride. Bridger loves it and Canyon LOVES pushing Bridger around. The little old ladies just giggle as we walk on by. I have had numerous people asking how much for the baby. "oh this sweet thing is not for sale"I say.

Every morning I wake up to Canyon knocking on his door telling me he is awake. This is between 5:00-5:30. That is way too early to be awake so I give him a sippy with milk and put him in front of the TV to watch Sesame Street. In one week he was trying to be helpful by helping himself to food. On Monday I woke up to him eating a pumpkin pie. Tuesday he was eating a pear and the juice was every where. Wednesday he poured a half gallon of chocolate milk all over the coffee table and down onto my carpet. And on Friday he wanted bananas. Friday I decided to not get mad and instead take a picture because he is after all trying to allow me to sleep a little longer.

Bridger is just so stinkin cute. I can't even stand it sometimes. He is happy most of the day. He is easy to put down for naps and bed. He loves his baths and bottles. He loves to watch Canyon, he now laughs at Canyon. He climbs over me and give me raspberries on my belly. Oh how I love my boys.
